A website Ebenstone built · Young authors
A home for a writing group’s first book.
The Tangent Guild is ten young authors in different countries who published their first anthology together. Ebenstone built thetangentguild.com: one page that puts the book first, introduces each author, and keeps readers following along for the next one.

thetangentguild.com, on a computer and a phone. The authors’ photos are left out of the picture.

The problem
A first book needs a front door, and ten authors need one place.
Without a site of its own, a writing group’s book lives on a store listing, and a reader who hears about it has nowhere to learn who wrote it or what comes next.
- 1The book has to be easy to buy.A reader who hears about it should be one tap from a copy.
- 2Ten authors, in different countries.Readers want to know who wrote each story.
- 3Readers finish the book and wait for the next one.Without a way to stay in touch, they drift away before it arrives.
- 4Nobody in the group maintains websites.Bios change and dates move, and the people writing the stories shouldn’t have to learn a site builder.
How each problem was solved
How The Tangent Guild solves each one
1The problem
The book has to be easy to buy.
What Ebenstone built
The book comes first.
The first screen shows the paperback beside one button to buy it on Amazon. On a phone, the menu carries the same button.
2The problem
Ten authors, in different countries.
What Ebenstone built
Each author has a page of her own.
Every author has a card. Tap one and her bio opens in a sheet, with next and previous to page through all ten.
3The problem
Readers finish the book and wait for the next one.
What Ebenstone built
Readers can follow along.
The guild’s timeline shows where it has been and what is next, and a newsletter signup lets a reader hear when the second anthology is out.
New stories, guild news, and release announcements, straight to your inbox.
4The problem
Nobody in the group maintains websites.
What Ebenstone built
Changed for them when they ask.
The guild sends a change and Ebenstone makes it. Every word on the page lives in one file, so a new bio or a new date is a small change.
Each picture recreates thetangentguild.com. The authors are left out.
Where it stands
Live at thetangentguild.com, with a second anthology planned for early 2027.
The guild sends what changes, and Ebenstone keeps the page current.
